All-Combine Offensive Team
Colin Kaepernick, Nevada - Kaepernick displayed the strongest arm at the combine as he was clocked at 59 miles per hour, which is something you'd expect from the former pitcher. His 4.53 second 40-time was only bettered by Tyrod Taylor and Jake Locker.
Mario Fannin, Auburn - Fannin, largely overshadowed by former Auburn teammates Cam Newton and Nick Fairley, turned in the second-best running back 40-time at the combine with a 4.38. At 5'11", 225 lbs, Fannin seems to have the size to be an every downs back and this 120-foot scamper could have moved him into the middle rounds.
Shane Vereen, California - Although Vereen didn't make Cal Bears fans completely forget about Jahvid Best, he put up a very productive 2010 season. At the Combine, Vereen showed great strength by putting up 31 reps on the bench and his speed numbers were solid as some scouts had him at a sub-4.5. Vereen's numbers show that he could be one of the few three-down backs in this draft.
Virgil Green, Nevada - Virgil Green did his best Vernon Davis impersonation as he blazed through the 40-yard dash in just over 4.6 seconds. Green, measuring in at 6'3", 249 lbs., dominated all others at his position as he registered a 42.5 inch vertical leap. Not to be outdone, his 10'10" broad jump was also the best amongst his position by far.
Julio Jones, Alabama- Jones entered the combine as the consensus number two wide receiver behind Georgia's A.J. Green. Jones fantastic workout may not have elevated him above Green, but it made him a lock for the top half of the first round. Jones registered a time of 4.39 seconds in the 40 with a 6'3", 220 lb. frame.
Leonard Hankerson, Miami - Hankerson showed his hands and solid route running in Mobile at the Senior Bowl and backed it up with a 4.43 second 40-time at the Combine. The former Hurricane measured in at 6'2", 209 lbs. with 10 ?" hands.
Nate Solder, Colorado - After struggling at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Solder flashed his unparalleled measureables during the Combine. The 6'8", 319 lb. mammoth posted the best 40-time of any tackle with a 5.05 and the top 10-yard split (1.62 seconds).
Anthony Castonzo, Boston College - Castonzo didn't light up the radar gun with his 40-yard dash, but was solid in drills and posted 28 reps on the bench press. Castonzo could be the top tackle taken in April's draft.
Ryan Bartholomew, Syracuse - The former 'Cuse center set the pace for all linemen with a 4.97 second 40-time while putting up 34 reps of 225 lbs. on the bench press. The workout warrior moniker certainly applies as Bartholomew was slated as a mid-round pick prior to the Combine.
Rodney Hudson, Florida State - Size was a bit of concern for Hudson as he weighed in at just 285 lbs. at the Senior Bowl. Rodney trained hard, and boosted his weight all the way to 299 for his Combine weigh-in. Hudson followed it up by putting up 28 reps on the bench press, showing he has enough strength for his size.
Brandon Fusco, Slippery Rock - Fusco had an up-and-down Senior Bowl week, but followed it up with an excellent job at the NFL Combine. Fusco measured in at 6'4", 306 lbs. and showed good athleticism, running a 5.21 40-yard dash while registering a 28.5" vertical leap and 9'0" broad jump. The former Division II star could be a middle round pick.
