Geathers Moves on to NFL

Georgia N Kwame Geathers will enter the NFL Draft, a spokesman for the school said Wednesday night.

Geathers is the third junior from Georgia's 2012 defense to turn pro early. The move was not unexpected, but Geathers was last underclassman at Georgia to announce his decision to leave.

One factor in Geathers' decision was likely that longtime defensive line coach Rodney Garner took a similar position at Auburn this winter.

Leaving early for the NFL is what both of Geathers' brothers did before him.

Geathers' departure means the Bulldogs will be breaking in a new nose in 2013. Candidates to start at that spot include redshirt freshman Johnathon Taylor and JUCO transfer Chris Mayes. Recommended Stories
