As many Jaguars fans now know, their team signed defensive tackle Rob Meier to an extension Thursday…
Jaguars Decide it is Meier Time
Whereas Meier has never been listed as an opening day starter in his career, he's started 17 games over the last two years in place of Marcus Stroud, and has 34 starts in his career. Meier has 185 tackles in his career, and 19.5 sacks, as he's known as a better pass rusher than run stopper.
Although the 6'5", 308 lb. Meier will likely start games in the middle this year, the Jaguars like to rotate their defensive linemen in and out, and the team will likely look for contributions from Tony McDaniel, Derek Landri, Jimmy Kennedy, and Theo Horrocks, assuming they make the final roster.
