Another Injury for the Jaguars
Reggie Williams down (Darren Hauck/AP)
By
Charlie Bernstein
Editor-in-Chief
Posted Jul 25, 2008
The first training camp practice is yet to occur, and the Jaguars have their number one and number two receivers down.
It is being reported that Jaguars wide receiver
Reggie Williams
has a mild knee sprain and may start training camp on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. Williams joins
Jerry Porter
, who had surgery on his hamstring last week.
Williams, the former first-round pick from the University of
Washington
, followed up three disappointing seasons with a breakout 2007, when he secured himself as a red zone threat by setting a franchise record with 10 touchdowns.
It is likely that with both Porter and Williams down,
Dennis Northcutt
and
Troy Williamson
will line up as the Jaguars number one and two receivers.
