When the Jaguars take on the Buffalo Bills Sunday, the names you expect to hear are David Garrard, Fred Taylor, Trent Edwards, Marcus Stroud, and Lee Evans, among others. JagNation is now going to focus on some of the players who could make an impact that may not be on everyone’s radar.

When the Jaguars are on offense:

One of the keys to this game will be how the Jaguars offensive line plays, as they are missing three starters. Look for veteran Tutan Reyes to have an impact on this football game, one way or the other. Reyes will likely be matched up against former Jaguars defensive tackle, Marcus Stroud, and Reyes must hold his own for the Jacksonville offense to have success.

Jaguars wide receiver Mike Walker will likely receive his first regular season action, and look for the talented receiver to make a few plays. Walker may be the team’s best route runner and if he can maintain his concentration and not become too nervous or excited, this will be a memorable debut.

Marcedes Lewis the blocker. Everyone knows Lewis is a very good receiving tight end, and he will need to make some plays in the passing game, but he is also a very good blocker. Lewis’s blocking acumen will be key in the running game for Jacksonville, and he will likely be called upon to help against Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay.

The perceived weak link in the Buffalo secondary is starting corner Jabari Greer. Greer will be tested by the Jaguars offense early and often, and if he plays well it could be a very long day for Jacksonville.

The return of Marcus Stroud is one of the biggest headlines of the game, but defensive end Aaron Schobel is one of the main Bills that the Jaguars offensive line must account for. Schobel is a very accomplished pass rusher and he can cause havoc in the Jaguars backfield.

When the Bills are on offense:

Lee Evans is the main player that Jacksonville must account for, due to his game-breaking speed, but Josh Reed on the other side of the field can give the Jaguars fits.

Left tackle Jason Peters will be playing in his first game of the season, as he held out for all of training camp with a contract dispute. If Peters is a bit rusty, the Jaguars may be able to pressure Trent Edwards and force the young QB into some turnovers.

Bills tight end Robert Royal is not mentioned among the best receiving tight ends in the league, but teams have exploited the middle of the field against the Jaguars in past few years and Royal could have a solid game.

Look for rookie Derrick Harvey to play a little more than he did last week and look for him to make some plays. If Harvey can be the player the Jaguars believe he can be, this defense can return to elite status.

Drayton Florence is a player that needs to rebound after a poor performance last week. Florence will be matched up against either Lee Evans or Josh Reed, and he will have to bring his “A” game.

This is a big game for Tony McDaniel, as he was the main reason why the Jaguars decided to trade Marcus Stroud to Buffalo. Expect a big game from the Jaguars young defensive tackle.

Special teams:

The name Roscoe Parrish is the one that most people are uttering, as he is one of the most explosive return men in the game. Watch out for kickoff return man Terrence McGee, who can be a game-changer in his own right.

In a game in which field position will likely be at a premium, the Bills are well equipped with punter Brian Moorman, who is among the best in the game.

There will be a lot of pressure on the Jaguars coverage units, and the leader of the Jaguars special teams is fullback Montell Owens. Owens is routinely the first man down field on the coverage team, and he must make some big plays on Roscoe Parrish and Terrence McGee.
