The Jaguars, who had recovered only one fumble in the first five games, recovered two fumbles Sunday in Denver, the first time they had done that since they did it at Denver last year.

Their 24-17 victory over Denver showed how important fumble recoveries are because the Jaguars turned them into 10 points, which was the difference in the game.

"It's huge," coach Jack Del Rio said. "Always when you take the football away from somebody, it's big. You have to protect the football as much as possible."

The victory gave the Jaguars a 3-3 mark at the bye week and they'll be favored to beat the next three teams they face - Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit - before they face Tennessee.

If they're to make a surge towards the playoffs in the last 10 games, they'll need to keep coming up with turnovers.

In the victory over Denver, they went 18 yards for to set up a Josh Scobee field goal after Reggie Hayward knocked the ball out of Jay Cutler's arms in the first period, the play after Fred Taylor fumbled when Nate Webster made a bit hit on him.

The second fumble came when Brandon Marshall caught a pass at the Jaguars 7-yard line in the second quarter.

Drayton Florence knocked the ball out of his arms and recovered the fumble.

The Jaguars then moved 75 yards for a touchdown to go ahead, 10-7.

The Jaguars lost a second fumble when David Garrard fumbled in the second period to kill a drive, but the Broncos couldn't cash it on it. The Jaguars have turned turnovers in 41 points and haven't given up points off a turnover.

Cutler also threw a long interception to Gerald Sensabaugh at the Jaguars' six-yard-line, but it was like a punt.
