It’s the list that everyone loves to hate, our meaningless power rankings.

The Favorite

1. New York Giants- They’ve been the best team in the NFL all year long. (2)

The Contenders

2. New York Jets- Jets are peaking right now, hitting on all cylinders on offense and defense. (8)

3. Tennessee Titans- They were due for a bad game, let’s see if it’s a trend. (1)

4. Indianapolis Colts- Manning is playing at a high level, the defense is good enough. (6)

5. Pittsburgh Steelers- Playing well despite a brutal schedule. (7)

Good, But Not a Real Contender

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They get no credit for beating up on Detroit. (4)

7. New England Patriots- Cassel is earning himself lots of money. (9)

8. Carolina Panthers- Beat up physically by the Falcons. (3)

9. Baltimore Ravens- They have the look of a playoff team. (10)

10. Arizona Cardinals- Their defense isn’t good enough to advance in the playoffs. (5)

11. Atlanta Falcons- John Abraham is playing at a Pro Bowl level. (12)

12. Dallas Cowboys- Took care of business. (15)

Pretenders

13. Minnesota Vikings- Imagine how good they’d be if they had a quarterback. (16)

14. New Orleans Saints- If they could only play 16 home games per year. (18)

15. Miami Dolphins- Not a good team, but the softest schedule in the history of football. (11)

16. Chicago Bears- Took care of business against horrible St. Louis. (19)

17. Washington Redskins- They need more offensive weapons. (20)

18. Green Bay Packers-Where was the number one pass defense in the NFL? (17)

19. Denver Broncos-May be the worst division champion ever. (13)

The Underachievers

20. Philadelphia Eagles- Donovan’s done, it’s about to get ugly. (14)

21. Buffalo Bills- Offense returned in a big way against the Chiefs. (22)

22. Houston Texans- They now have roommates in the cellar of the AFC South. (26)

23. San Diego Chargers- Losing close games with regularity. (23)

24. Cleveland Browns- Offense is underachieving in a major way. (21)

25. Jacksonville Jaguars- Soft football team who can’t score points. (24)

Does it Really Matter?

26. Oakland Raiders- Jamarcus Russell played well for the first time. (27)

27. Seattle Seahawks- Holmgren will have them fighting hard in the final weeks. (29)

28. Cincinnati Bengals- Bengals have been playing much better lately. (28)

29. San Francisco 49ers- Just another horrible team. (25)

30. Kansas City Chiefs- I think Buffalo just scored again. (30)

31. St. Louis Rams- It’s getting worse, not better. (31)

32. Detroit Lions- Legitimate shot at 0-16. (32)
