2005: Started all 16 games at right outside linebacker and became third player in franchise history to lead team in tackles for four consecutive seasons. Tallied 150 tackles, tied career high with five sacks and added two interceptions, 10 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, eight passes defensed and five quarterback pressures. Led team or tied for team lead in tackles in 10 games.
2004: Started all 16 games at right outside linebacker and led team in tackles for third consecutive season. Named Sports Illustrated All-Pro and was also named to Pro Football Weekly’s midseason All-Pro team. In addition to his 171 tackles, set career highs in sacks (five) and passes defensed (12) and matched career high in interceptions (two). Led team or tied for team high in tackles in 11 games. Added two quarterback pressures, eight tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for touchdown (1/2 vs. Det.). Became franchise’s first player since Gregg Bingham (1979-81) to record 170 or more tackles in three consecutive seasons.
2003: Started 16 games at right outside linebacker and posted another solid season for Titans, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors after leading team in tackles (171) for second straight year. Registered eight games where he totaled double-digit tackles while leading squad in tackles seven times. Played a major role in helping defense finish first in NFL against the run, preventing seven running backs from surpassing the 100-yard barrier who rushed for more than 1,000-yards during the regular season. Also collected three sacks, two interceptions, nine quarterback pressures, eight tackles behind the line of scrimmage, five passes defensed, a team-high five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
2002: Started all 16 games at right outside linebacker and led the Titans with 180 tackles – the most by any player with the franchise since 1986. Added 15 quarterback pressures, 10 tackles for loss, one interception, three passes defensed, one sack, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown. Was named All-Pro by Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, first-team All-Pro by Football Digest, second-team All-Pro by Associated Press and All-AFC by Pro Football Weekly.
2001: Saw action as a nickel linebacker, starting two games and posting 64 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, five passes defensed, eight special teams tackles and two special teams fumble recoveries for Tennessee.
2000: Appeared in all 16 games as a rookie with Titans posting 21 total tackles and an interception. Tallied first NFL start against the N.Y. Giants (10/1) in a four-linebacker package. Recorded first career interception against Dallas quarterback Anthony Wright and returned it eight yards for first career touchdown in 31-0 win on Monday Night Football (12/25).
College Career
Three-year starter for Syracuse. Ranks seventh in school history with 375 tackles during career. As senior, earned First-team All-Big East Conference selection. Received the team's Bill Horr Award, given to the team's Most Valuable Player. Started 10 games at middle linebacker, leading the conference with a career-high 138 tackles. Posted two sacks for 13 yards and 11 tackles for loss for 38 yards. Tackle for loss total ranked him tied for eighth in the Big East in 1999. Also tallied six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Appeared in the Senior Bowl |
