Scouting Report
The SDBoltReport.com Staff had Jammer rated as a top-five pick. Versatile defensive back who has started at both cornerback and safety in college. Won both All-American honors as a senior totaling 53/2/23 and All-Conference as a junior with 43/3/20. Played exclusively as a free safety as a sophomore and posted 81 tackles. Physical on the line player who excels in man-to-man. Can play step for step with anyone and is smooth on his backpedaling. Adjusts in mid air to defend the pass and deflect away the ball. Has an explosive closing speed burst which will on occassion hurt him as he tries to gamble. Will be a great slot receiver cover man and is the best defensive back in the 2002 draft.
College Career
Jammer had a stellar career at Texas seeing time at both safety and cornerback. As a senior he won both All America and All Conference honors. In his career at Texas Jammer started 38 of 46 games he played in. Jammer recorded 195 tackles (147 solo) during that span with the Longhorns. He also contributed 2 sacks and 6 tackles for a loss. Jammer intercepted 7 passes and set a school record with 57 passes deflected. He also caused 9 fumbles while recovering 2. Quentin has allowed but one TD reception in his 38 games as a starter. He has been touted by many scouts to be the best cornerback to enter the league in the last 5 or 6 years. |
